Collard greens, sweet potatoes and vegan chicken in a spicy peanut sauce (scallions, chili, black pepper, white pepper, lemon juice, palm oil, peanuts, turmeric, garlic, cardamom, cumin and ginger) with black rice.
The aperitif was a screwdriver.
The wine was D'Arenberg's Darry's Original.

This looks and sounds so friggin' good!! OMG! I could eat that picture.
Believe it or not....I have never tried d'arry's Original. What is wrong with me? Mind you, I see down a few posts you had some Louis Jadot Beaujolais Villages. What did you think? This is one of my favorite affordable wines. I find this wine to be consistently good and very versitile. According to Vintages, he's Mr. Popular! So are you for Hottest Daddy. Way to go!!
Thanks, Carrie! re: the Louis Jadot, I like it. It doesn't have a lot of a structure, but it's a Beaujolais, you know? I find it good for drinking, though. Darry's Original is pretty good if you like shiraz (it's a shiraz/grenache blend). A lot of the d'Arenberg's score in the high 80s to 90s. So, they're good wines, and easy to get here (comparatively). I'm losing steam with Hottest Daddy. I think I'm running third now (just replace Wil Wheaton now with Neil Gaiman).
a screwdriver aperitif?! lol! i love it. i'm sure it prepared the palate.
Mmmmmmmm... veg chikn in a spicy peanut sauce. Vincent, you are a star. A screwdriver, 'eh? Wow, that is SO 1950s!
That looks so good. I love collards.
@pinknest -- my palate was, indeed, fully prepared.
@kleo -- thanks, I wore my slippers, but I didn't smoke a pipe while drank it.
@neva -- thanks, I love collards, too.
A screwdriver! What a coincidence, I feel like I just mentioned them to someone yesterday! ;)
Hmmmh, what a bizarre coincidence, no? ;)p
